Gift from Heaven
Allison (25) from New York & Aryeh
Match #: 2063&2064
Four years ago I married a man who I thought was my true love. I even called him my angel. Ten weeks into our marriage he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia and unfortunately died six months later. I thought that my life was over. For the next few months I spent most of my time yelling at Hashem and being angry at my late husband for leaving me alone. At the time it seemed like even from heaven he was helping my parents while I was left alone in the dark. Little did I know that something big was brewing.
Around Purim time I decided to start dating again with little hope for a future filled with a husband, kids, parnassah, and happiness. After many dates with many different men I found myself in Denver, Colorado, getting off a plane to see this guy that I found on JWed. The minute I saw him I knew I wanted to turn around, get back on the plane, and go home. He wasn't for me. Over that weekend I went back onto JWed and saw an e-mail from a man wearing a McDonald's hat and holding a pint of Guiness. After reading his e-mail he seemed sweet and we also seemed to have a lot in common, so I went forward and read his profile. Everything checked out! We e-mailed and texted back and forth for quite some time before he noticed that I was a widow. RED FLAG! That night, instead of focusing on his voice for the first time and talking about our days I found myself making a sales pitch and trying to give him a good reason to keep talking to me. After an hour conversation he realized that even though my title says "widow" it does not define who I am.
August 3rd came and we finally met. After hours of primping and prepping the doorbell rang. Our eyes met and I knew from that moment he was sent from above. We walked to the park, talked for hours, and when the date was over I couldn't wait to see him again. After many dates and many talks we learned that we were made for each other. Aryeh taught me how to see the good in everyone and everything. He helped a closed and scared woman open her shell and show her true colors. I am forever grateful for his constant love, honesty, and overall outlook on life. He became my best friend, my true bashert, the love of my life, and is truly a gift from heaven.
Aryeh and I are now married 2 years and just welcomed our daughter Peri into the world. We are so blessed and thank our angel above every day for all of the wonderful gifts and experiences he has given us.
