The help of G-d and sister websites

Jaime (35) from Connecticut & Eric (36) from New York

When the soul is ready to meet it's other half, the help of G-d... and sister websites can be handy in this matter!

Let me explain.

Having come from a Secular/ Reform Jewish background, I found myself wanting more from my Jewish faith in terms of day-to-day religious observance. This was only further enhanced after an unexpected and difficult breakup. Fast forward a couple of tears, a couple of years, and quite a few joyous moments of self discovery in my Jewish identity--I moved on, became more pious through my own volition and began looking for someone who had the same passions as I did.

I stumbled upon JWed and was enticed by its mission statement, "Jewish Dating for Marriage." After finding other Jewish dating sites to be a bit lacking, I decided to give your site a shot. Although I was not well versed in a particular prayer, I decided that evening to speak to G-d the only way I could, from the heart. I asked G-d to hear me and guide me in finding my other half.

Meanwhile, in New York, my B'sheirt (Eric) was also having a tough time finding his soulmate. He came from a Modern Orthodox background, and was looking for someone with a bit more zest than what he had so far encountered... His last dating venture prior to JWed was described to me like a "potato chip with no seasoning." At a loss, his sister told him to daven a special prayer for his soulmate. My now husband and I feel this was the evening that we both prayed to Hashem looking for our soulmates--separately, but together.

Two weeks later, I received an email from Eric through JWed stating "...I selfishly hope you are not taken yet." Intrigued, we began to email back and forth and decided to have a phone conversation later that evening.

Well... needless to say, that first conversation lasted into the wee hours of the morning! The most memorable part of the conversation went something like this:

Me: Well... I'm so glad you reached out to me through JWed!
Eric: Um, what's JWed?
Me: Ummm... how we met...
Eric: No... we met on JWed...
Me: No... JWed? What's JWed?
Eric: ::Laughter:: What are you talking about???
Me: What are YOU talking about?!?! ::Laughter at his ridiculous laugh::

We discovered, you had SISTER sites! Thanks to your site (and the help of The Almighty), we were able to connect. We are now happily married for 5+ years with two beautiful daughters. Thank G-d for JWed (and JWed)!
