Super Storm Sandy wasn't all Doom and Gloom!
Dovi (32) from East Brunswick, NJ & Dina (34) from East Brunswick, NJ
It was a dark and stormy October night in 2012....now, while this might sound like the start of a cheesy fairy tale story, this is no fairly tale! It was a dark and stormy night, October 22nd, 2012 to be exact, the very night Super Storm Sandy slammed down on the Northeast. Dovi in Philadelphia assigned to the US Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District and Dina a speech language pathologist working in New York City. A few minutes into what was turning into a great chat conversation internet connections failed and the conversation ended abruptly. While both of us thought the other ended the conversation out of a lack of interest, we would later learn that the storm knocked the electricity out. Contact was made the next day and we knew that this would make for a story for the ages. We met a few days later and hit it off from that first date. For 6 months we dated what many would consider long distance, me in Philadelphia and Dina in New York. For 6 months we would meet in different parts of New Jersey, many times taking NJ Transit to meet each other. NJ Transit played an important role in our dating experience. How fitting it would be to get engaged on, NJ Transit. And that's what we did. On April 14th 2013, on Dina's birthday, after a nice day in Central Park, carriage ride and all, we headed to NJ on, NJ Transit, only this time we would get off of the trains; engaged! NJ Transit staff, engaged and involved in the entire event caught the entire event on camera and covered the story for their newsletter and website. We were wed on January 5th, 2014. We have been happily married for 5 years, have 2 boys and have settled in East Brunswick, NJ. It all started with a storm. Thank you JWed for facilitating our happily ever after!
