I've been dating over 11 years many many men... I kept track of every guy I went out with on a list. When I was in my upper 70s count, I started making a joke "ad meah ve'esrim"(Until 120). I started dating more and more, and that number grew from 70-80-90-100-110... At 118 I thought I met the guy. He was exactly the "look" I was looking for. He dumped me after 2 dates leaving me devastated! 119- was super off... now comes the BIG 120... I told Hashem, this has to be it b/c I can't anymore... I went out with Guy #120 and... it wasn't my husband. After one date I knew... I told the shadchan I don't know what her merit was to "break me" and have me reach my limit but I'm done. Done with looking at another profile, done with going on another date, done with the hope, done with the rejection, done done done! 2 months later, I received a suggestion of a guy which came up on a different dating site twice before and which I've declined twice but this time it came from a shadchan I knew of personally and I trusted her and felt that she's helped me so much in the past, I couldn't say no to her. I agreed to a date just for her, to do her a favor. In my mind, I knew nothing would come from it b/c he was SOOO not for me. He was Israeli, Sfardi, and just SO different. I didn't put much (if any) effort into getting ready for the date. We went out. When I go out I have 2 rules. if the guys complete the 2 rules, they get another date. The rules are: You are have to buy me a drink, and take me home. Before we sat down on the first date, he looks at me and says "What would you like to drink?" I'm thinking ooo, you get a point... at the end of the date, he asked how I'm getting him, I told him I'll be taking the train, he offered to take me home. Done. He get gets a second date. Four months later, he proposed:-) He wasn't 120- He was 121. I guess a boundary had to be broken so the bracha could come through... I bless everyone that the bracha should spread to all of klal Yisrael!
