Beyond our Wildest Expectations

Susan (38) from United Kingdom & Art (36) from Israel

Match #: 1797&1798

This is not our second marriage. It's our last. We're in love!

On the day she received her Get, Susan wrote to Art. Would he be interested in talking to her, even though she is a little bit older than him? Art, also newly-divorced, wrote back to say that he was sure that he could overlook this, provided Susan could accept that he was not 6 foot tall.

Messages were exchanged for a couple of days and then they spoke for the first time. It was Erev Succos and Susan was home, planning Yomtov and making a birthday party for two of her sons. They spoke for over an hour. What next? Art told Susan that as they were on the brink of a 3-day Yomtov, she had time to think and could contact him in Chol Hamoed, if she wanted.

For Art, those 3 days were torture. Good news! On Motzei Shobbas, Susan called Art (who was home-alone, planning their wedding). They spoke regularly throughout Chol Hamoed, exchanging emails and photos and, once again as the next 3-day Yomtov approached, Art told Susan the ball was in her court.

When Susan called at the end of Shobbas, Art knew they had to meet. Now just to organise childcare and book flights. Did we mention that Art had sole custody of his four kids and lived 1000s of miles away from Susan and her four kids?

Unable to meet in Susan's hometown, their first date was at a supermarket cafe in a nearby city. That night was Shobbas. A small intimate affair with Susan, her best friends and her 3 oldest children. Lunch, the next day, included Susan's youngest son and her mother!

Art made 2 further trips to Susan's hometown before she brought everyone to visit Art and his children. Technically this was their 4th date, just Art, Susan and their 8 children. At the end of the trip, Art proposed and the rest is history . . .
