Daugther married through JWed - I decided to post my profile!

Match #: 453&454

HER SIDE
In March of 2004, we celebrated the wedding of my daughter Channie Braun and Tzvi Mechanik, who met on JWed. Shortly after the wedding, with my daughter's suggestion, I began to browse on the site and put my profile and picture up.
Being very content with my life as it was, I was just browsing out of curiosity. Although I lost my husband 14 years ago, I had come full circle and moved on, enjoying my job, my friends, my kids and everything else I had.
Then a charming man answered e-mailed me at JWed.We began to correspond and we noticed that our outlook in life was very similar.
After about a month of e-mailing, I agreed to meet him on May 23, 2004 at the Israeli parade in Manhattan. He was from Baltimore, and I from NYC, so dating was a long distance situation, but nonetheless, we decided to give it a second try. It wasn't long that we started dating on a regular basis by going back and forth over weekends.
A year and three months later, on 8/22/05, we were engaged. Our relationship is one of deep spiritual, intelectual and emotional connecting to one another. G-d and JWed have proven to be wonderful shadchanim and we are forever grateful. And in my case, we have, perhaps a first for JWed : both a mother and her daughter met their partners on the site. G-d bless you in your holy work. And may you have hundreds more success stories.
HIS SIDE:
For the single guys out there still searching for that special someone, I have to say that JWed became for me a very important part of my life even before I met Beckie.
That's because through JWed I was at least making connections and meeting people. But more importantly, the Internet style of meeting and dating forces you to pay attention first to the inner part of a person.
After all, you first communicate through writing and phone conversation, which avoids having physical attraction become the only motivating force of a future relationship. It was in this way that I first came to know Beckie. What I quickly learned was that Beckie is someone who has taken the teachings of our sages regarding having Bitachon in Hashem and made it a part of her inner self. She doesn't just intellectualize it, she wears it inside and out through every action of her daily life.
For me this made her a 'Beautiful' human being long before I ever met her in person. She was already an Eishes Chayil to me before we had our first date. Because I saw this inside before I really saw the outside, I had made a spiritual connection with her separate and apart from any potential physical attraction. With that, I understood that a loving relationship starts there, not upon a 'Hollywod' style love at first sight concept. And yes guys, while it is true that the physical attraction is important, it just shouldn't be the first and only thing that attracts you to a woman. I can honestly say that over time the spiritual connection and friendship that started through an Internet connection has become a passionate loving deep friendship. Now when I look at Beckie I see the most beautiful woman in the world, both inside and out. With G-d's help, we plan to be married on Sunday, November 6, 2005.

Beckie and Sam, JWed Match #227, and were married on 4 Cheshvan 5766, November 6 2005.
