From St. Louis to NY - and back!

Match #: 257&258

Gabe came to New York, from St. Louis, to work and to socialize and to date. I grew up on Long Island and was living in the city, going to NYU.
We actually have several friends in common, in several different circles, but we had never met, though we would later discover that we had actually seen each other once before meeting from JWed.
Gabe used to use JWed, but had never actually met someone from it.
I had initially posted a profile so that I could write to one of my other friends who had an account on JWed! I didn’t even put a picture up! However …Gabe immediately saw my profile and believed it was cute, and so he wrote me!
He decided to ask random questions - 'If you could be any smurf, which one and why? How do you feel about watermelon? What is your favorite Popsicle? What’s the deal with eggplant? How many times a day do you yawn?'- to gauge my reaction. Gabe called this 'test!'
I guess he liked my responses, because two days later we were sitting at 'The Burrito Bar,' a random tie-dyed café somewhere in the Village, talking for hours about all the other random things we could think of.
Gabe always said that he would have to date at least a year before getting married. On April 4, 2004, one year and six days after meeting, he asked me to marry him, and I said “Yes!”

Gabe and Keren, JWed Match #129, were married on 22 Av 5764, August 9, 2004.
