From Georgia to Los Angeles to Israel

Match #: 161&162

Our Story begins during Pesach where I had reached my limit with other Jewish Singles Websites, not that I had been on there long, but I wasn't receiving the response I was looking for and had remembered your website posted up on the bulletin board in Shul.
Being newly back on the Singles scene through unique circumstances and a twist in my Journey to Yiddishkeit, I braved to place a profile on the Jewish Singles Web. Knowing what my future goals were and who I was looking for helped my search for my Bashert easier.
I davened, asking Hashem to place me where I needed to be in order for me to find him. After several months of communication to responses I had received I headed to the newly posted website JWed.
To my delight, the site was free of charge, and I liked the simplicity.  I was a little hesitant but reminded myself that I had to do my part. Hashem would take care of the rest.
Miraculously I was on the website for 2 weeks.  I spent Pesach with my Mother which was the first for us together!  When I returned and checked me mail, I received a wonderful email from a gentleman in California.

I read his profile and looked at his goals.  They matched with mine.  I responded and we continued to share on email.  Communication went smoothly, then we braved the phone lines.  I found my days full of anticipation and laughter.  I was at ease with this person and when he invited me for a live visit, I agreed.
The date was planned for Shavuos. I packed my bags and off I flew excited and nervous all rolled in one.  When I finally reached the LAX airport and headed toward the baggage claim I started having doubts.  Was he the one? Had I made a rash quick decision?
What if I anticipated too much?  Could I let go and let G-d?
I headed towards the restroom and freshened up.  I   looked in the mirror and stared, my heart was pounding!  I put on a smile and headed towards baggage claim, "its all in your Hands"...
My pace quickened as I realized that I was keeping Him waiting. I walked up the flight of stairs and headed around the corner.  A gentleman headed towards me casually with a smile on his face and a rose in his hand: "Hi, you must be Yocheved;  I'm Avraham Shachar and happy that you've arrived safely. May I help you with your bag?"
He had such ease, and he looked at me with eyes of love and approval.  "You're even more beautiful than your picture," he volunteered looking at me.
After my baggage was retrieved from the carousel we headed to his vehicle parked nearby. He opened the door for me and there was another rose placed on the passenger seat.
The fragrance embraced me as I turned and smiled, "How thoughtful, thank you."
Our story is amongst many who have found success with JWed.  We shared our hopes and dreams and our goals for the future.  We realized that we had our differences but were willing to commit our lives together with Hashem's help.
Every step was divinely orchestrated and as the days went into months, we both realized how Hashem designed this union.
I didn't return back to Georgia.
Our bond was deep and our commitment to follow the ways of Shomer Negiah made our story even more powerful.
Having studied in the Judean Hills of Bat Ayin, we had an open invitation to have our Chuppah there.  No date was set.  Every detail of our lives was divinely orchestrated.
August 12, Erev Tu'B'AV, the most romantic day of the Jewish calendar became our Chuppah night.

The sun started setting, the guitars melodic sound echoed through the valley and the community around us, the sky brilliantly broadcasted a hue of colors as we headed towards the "Tsuk", the "Rock".  When I saw this jutting rock where many of the single women from the MIdreshet davened, I knew that this would be the site of our Chuppah! I couldn't have a more memorable wedding site!!
To this day we have been married over 5 months, and now I'm carrying the fruit of Hashem's blessing of 4 months.
What I thought would be the impossible, Hashem turned out to make it possible with Blessings from above.
Thank all of you at JWed who have made so many shidduchim possible.  We are so grateful for your site and wish you much success in your continuing to bring singles to their matches!!!!!!!!!!

Avraham and Yocheved, JWed Match #81, were married on August 12 2003, Erev Tu'B'AV.
