I soon realized that JWed was the right crowd

I must first say that it was Hashgachah Pratis in action. In the past, I had searched for men who were my age and older.  On that "fatal" day, for some reason, I put in a different age criterion, and saw Eugene's profile, who at that time was just a month short of 48.
If I haven't done it, I would have never found him!! (and he would have never found me because he never looked at the profiles of women without a picture!!).

I wrote to him, and he shortly thereafter responded, asking for my picture. I sent him a few pictures, and I guess he liked what he saw!
We emailed for about a week, then talked on the phone for about a month.
During this time, I did my due diligence and checked him out with his rabbi. We met on August 24th in New York, then had four dates during Labor Day weekend in Boston, and by the end of that weekend I think we both knew that we were meant for each other.
Two weeks later we got engaged!
That's how it happened in a nutshell.  Perhaps I could offer a couple of pieces of advise based on my experience: Widen your search, (assumptions sometimes mislead us) and pictures are important. I hope this is helpful. Thank you for doing a great Mitzvah.

Although I actually listed my profile on several Jewish web sites, I did not receive responses from people that I was really targeting (observant Jews) ö at least until I listed myself with JWed. I soon realized that it was the right crowd of observant Jews I was looking for.
I got several responses and after a while got a note from my future wife (Olga).
I live in Rhode Island, she was living in Pennsylvania at that time.
We met in New York City for the first time after communicating by e-mail for couple of weeks or so. Than she came to Boston and we met again. If I remember it correct, after our 4th of 5th date, it became clear to me that she was the one. I proposed and she responded positively!
We decided not to postpone our wedding for a long time ö and were married in Israel on Rosh Chodesh Kisslev.

Eugene and Olga, JWed Match #72, were married on 3th Cheshvan 5764, 25th November 2003.
