I decided that night that I was going to become a member of JWed!

Match #: 131&132

To join or not to join? A couple of friends of mine had mentioned JWed to me and tried to get me to sign on, and in the beginning I flatly refused – I decided there was no way that I was going to join an online dating service!
After months and months (and months!) of cajoling, though, I came to a realization: Meeting a guy on JWed couldn’t possibly be any more random than having my grandmother’s friend’s sister’s roommate’s co-worker set me up with a guy who she never met but is perfect for me, even though she hadn’t met me either, and wasn’t even so sure that this perfect guy was dating.
I decided that night that I was going to become a member of JWed.
I sat down at my computer and started filling out the application. I wasn’t even halfway through when I chickened out. Nope, not happening. I cannot join an online dating service!! But the next day I logged back on and just did it! Yoikes! I’m out there! A little scary, but hey – what in life isn’t?
A couple of weeks after I joined JWed, I got an email from Josh (on 6/13… not a bad hit!). I could pick up on his sense of humor in the few lines he sent, and I decided to write back. SO glad I did! After a few emails back and forth during the course of a week, we discovered that we both knew a particular family really well – Josh, since before he was born, and me, since I was about seven. Once I found that out, and discovered that we had a lot more in common, I told him my name. Shortly after that, we spoke on the phone. Our first date was a few days later on my parents’ wedding anniversary (and the hits just keep on coming!) and it was fantastic! Finally someone who I could talk to who was interesting, funny, sincere, caring and from an internet dating service…!
And, it turned out that Josh had needed a lot of convincing to join JWed as well. But hey - if JWed can bring a die-hard Yankee fan (me) and a completely committed Red Sox fan (Josh) together happily, then that website has GOT to be good!! Josh and I got engaged after five months of sushi-saturated dating, and we were married 4 months later on March 21, 2004.

Tova and Josh, JWed Match #66, were married on 28th of Adar 5764, March 21, 2004.
