I was the one to initiate contact with David...
Noelle from New York, NY & David
Match #: 191 & 192
I was the one to initiate contact with David. I knew my beshert was out there so I didn't limit my search to just New York City .
I wrote him sometime in March of 2003. He didn't write back until about a month later. By then I was dating someone and wasn't sure where it was going. Finally when I realized my feelings were not developing for the person I was dating but there was nothing 'not to like' about the guy only that 'j'ai ne sais quoi' was not there and I knew something was wrong. By then David and I had developed a friendship/ correspondence over the phone and via e-mail. He didn't seem particularly interested in me, in a romantic way, it was 'just' friends. Finally one day, Pesach Chol Ha Moed, we talked and I told him how something was really lacking in the relationship I was in, and only I couldn't really put it into words, I was unsure if I should 'end it.' After much conversation and weighing the pluses and minuses, he said I wasn't being honest and it seemed I was leading (my current date) on.
I agreed only because I knew the other person's feelings were developing at an exponential rate whereas mine were not developing at all. With that, I followed David's advice and ended my relationship. Choosing to rely on someone I never met. I had all the faith in the world that David was giving me good advice and had no ulterior motive. The next day, David jokingly asked, so when are you coming out to Arizona ?
With that, everything just took off, and David flew me out to meet him and I think our destiny was confirmed that first day we met. We first met in June, and David proposed at my Rabbi's Shabbos table, to everyone's disbelief around Thanksgiving. Quickly after that we made our wedding plans, we just wanted to be married already but family and friends wanted the traditional wedding so, with all haste, we put it together for March 11, 2004. So many of our friends and family flew in from Europe, Denver , Arizona , California , and a few other places I'm sure I'm forgetting.
I love David with all my heart and B"H we are expecting our first child in the fall. It took a while for us to get ourselves together to finally write this. It's been a whirlwind since we met and months later got engaged, then married, and relocated to Arizona . We bought a house and it took time making it our home and now I work for the Kollel, here in Phoenix , and B"H I could not be happier. I have also dedicated a lot of my time to Shidduchim and constantly tell people how I met David, marketing “JWed” in everyway I can. B"H We have a great life, and we are so happy, building a bayis n'eman b'yisroel.
David and Noelle, JWed Match 90, were married 28th Av 5764, 11th March 2004
