- What is a universally-recognized conversion?
A universally-recognized conversion is a conversion to Judaism which has been completed in full and which is recognized by all Jewish streams including the Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox movements.
- Am I eligible for JWed?
JWed is for marriage-minded Jewish singles of any religious affiliation or background. Non-affiliated, secular, traditional and orthodox Jewish singles are all equally welcome. The only qualifications are that you are Jewish, single, and genuinely interested in marriage.
As an authentically Jewish service, you must be born to a Jewish mother or have completed a universally-recognized conversion. You also must be legally single which means divorcees should have a civil divorce and/or a Jewish get (where applicable).
Proselytizers from Jews for Jesus or similar groups are not welcome. - How does JWed work?
Prospective members register, choose a display name, are screened for eligibility, and find prospective matches using powerful search features. An on-site mailbox is then used to communicate with prospective matches anonymously. Other features such as Forums, IM, Icebreakers, and Favorites are also available.
- What is Frumster?
Frumster.com, the sister-site of JWed.com, is a Jewish dating site designed primarily for orthodox Jewish singles. If you already have an account on JWed, you don't need to join Frumster. Your JWed login works on both sites.
JWed uses smart-integration with Frumster to seamlessly include relevant Frumster listings in your experience. Smart-integration is based on your profile data, so you'll have the same exact experience on both sites no matter which site you login from. The only exception is a more modern user-interface at JWed.com
- Is my information safe and secure?
Yes. JWed.com is hosted with Rackspace, Inc. on servers located in state-of-the-art secured facilities in Dallas, Texas. Critical data is regularly backed up with Iron Mountain, Inc. Credit card data is secured with 256-bit EVSSL encryption from GoDaddy.com, Inc.
- How much does the service cost?
There is no charge to join JWed, conduct searches, and be listed in searches. Communicating with members requires a Premium membership which costs as little as $14.95/month.
- Is JWed available on my mobile phone?
A mobile-optimized version of the website is available on iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Palm, and Windows Mobile phones (as of February 22, 2011). Only inbox/messaging features are available at this time. Additional features will be added soon. Just go to JWed on your mobile browser to automatically access the mobile version.
- How can I get a refund?
If you see a charge on your credit card, but haven't used the service recently, you probably forgot to cancel auto-renew. Auto-renew charges and subscription purchases are non-refundable. No exceptions. Please be sure to cancel auto-renew or suspend your profile to avoid future charges.
Refunds are only issued in cases of identity theft or accidental duplicate billings. - Why are some profiles missing?
We recently introduced an age filter, which excludes from your experience profiles of members 20 years older or younger than you. You can disable this filter at any time if you want to continue seeing these types of profiles.
